Pictures from Lesvos in GreeceLesvos is a big island, in fact Lesvos is the Mediterranean's eighth largest island after Sicily, Sardinia, Cyprus, Corsica, Crete, Evia and Mallorca. The capital Mytilini has more than 27 800 inhabitants. Nearest neighbouring island is Chios. There are many beaches, all from the kilometre-long sand and shingle beaches to small quiet coves, which Ermogenis. Most popular are the beaches of Anaxos, Petra, Agios Isidoros and Skala Eressou. Also the beach in Sigri, the beach of Melinda and the beach in Skala Kalloni attracts some tourists. Vatera is the longest beach. There are also beach in Molyvos.
